Everything you need to know before installing Changeloger on your plugin's site.

Will Changeloger slow down my plugin's site? +

No. Changeloger only loads its CSS and JS on pages where you actually place a Changeloger block. Everywhere else, it adds zero overhead. The release data is cached in a single custom post type query, so even sites with hundreds of releases load in under 200ms.

Can I import my existing changelog from my old plugin? +

Yes. Paste your old changelog as plain text, markdown, or JSON — Changeloger parses it into structured releases automatically. You can also point it at a public URL (your old changelog page or GitHub releases) and it'll pull everything in. After import, every release is fully editable.

Does the AI rewrite feature send my data to a third party? +

Only the text you choose to rewrite is sent to our AI provider (OpenAI-compatible). Nothing else — no release metadata, no site data, no user info. You can also disable AI entirely and use Changeloger with manual editing only.

Can I show different release layouts on different pages? +

Absolutely. Each Changeloger block has its own layout setting. Use Stack on your main changelog page, Compact in a sidebar widget, and Mosaic on your marketing landing page — all from the same release data, no duplication.

Does it work with my existing theme? +

Yes. Changeloger blocks inherit your theme's typography and spacing by default. You can override colors, fonts, and spacing per-block in the editor sidebar. We test against the 20 most popular WordPress themes — Astra, GeneratePress, Kadence, Divi, Avada, and more.

What happens to my releases if I cancel Pro? +

Your release data stays in WordPress forever — it's stored as a custom post type, not in our cloud. If you cancel Pro, Pro-only blocks (Release Hub, Ticker, Mosaic) stop rendering, but your data is intact. Reactivating Pro brings everything back exactly as it was.

Can I use Changeloger for non-plugin products? +

Yes. Changeloger works for any product that ships versions — themes, SaaS apps, mobile apps, even internal tools. The release structure is generic: version, date, change groups, items. Nothing is WordPress-plugin-specific.
